ASSISTED INSTRUMENT PURCHASE SCHEME - AIPS
The Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme AIPS enables pupils at local authority and academy schools to purchase instruments without paying VAT on the purchase.
The rules of the AIPS say that the purchase order must be made with the school or academy where your child is educated. The school then place the order with us as the supplier. You pay the school directly at the discounted VAT free rate.
Affordability
This scheme was setup by HMRC to make buying a musical instrument more affordable. This means instead of buying a cheaper alternative product the better instrument becomes more accessible. Buying a suitable product is key for a learner to succeed .
Is My School Eligible?
In short yes. Contact the school business manager or finance department to ask if they are happy to process the AIPS
Is My Child Eligible ?
The rules of the AIPS are that your child must be in full time education and is having music lessons at the school
